First Aid – Little Known Facts About Picking The Right Class

Where do I get my first aid recertification? How do I pick the best class for me or for my company?
First Aid Training
If you’re looking for a first aid course or a first aid recertification course, there are some very important things you should know before you choice who to take it through.
  • Price!
A lot of safety training is based on the idea that people need this course and they can charge what they like for it. Look around at prices in your area, there will always be the dirt cheap company that you will get dirt poor teaching from and the low cost companies that perhaps have other venues for revenue and will offer outstanding teachers for a low cost (an example is Mission Safety In Edmonton – because they already employ highly trained and experienced emergency responders they have great teachers on pay role that can hop into a classroom for you)
  • The Classroom
This is often overlooked – especially with company group training. A cramped room is not how you want to spend your day, and sitting on the floor can cause havoc with your back. Finds a company with proper facilities to send people/go to – learning increases with comfort.
  • Is it certified?
Remember that this piece of paper will be deciding what job you get, or wither people think you’re gullible enough to get training with the guy in his truck behind the mall.
You’re looking for Red Cross certification. This is recognized around the world.
This is the only aspect you can ditch when you look for any other safety training courses – instead check for OSSA or Enform certification)
  • Do they offer other course?
Every 3 years, you’ll need to take a first aid recertification class. Can the company you want to go through provide that? What about reminders that you need to get that class done before it’s too late? What about other safety training outside of first aid? Can you get Enform classes, or OSSA certification? Having one place work with you for all your training is simple and low stress. They can help you choose and course and usually have suggestions on what your best choices are or can even bundle them for you. You get a personal connection when you deal with the same company for everything, and you sounds very professional when you can confidently suggest a company to handle any other safety needs your coworkers or bosses have!
If the company you’ve chosen has all of these aspects, then prepare for a great First Aid experience!
